Sport Court Update-Projected Opening September 30th

As most are aware, the common areas have had increased vandalism this year and the board felt that extra security measures needed to be taken to help in protecting the $200,000 investment to remodel the tennis courts into a more family orientated sports court.  

 

The present security system is old and outdated and time for an update.  The new security system will have better options and real-time functions which the old system did not.  In order to install the new system, the internet had to be installed and we have been engaged in this process with Cox since late May.  Unfortunately, internet access is only available on the north side of Orchid so a permit was needed from the City of Chandler to bore under the street.  This alone has caused a long delay in the install.  We now have a tentative date of mid-September for Cox to complete the internet installation.  The security company has also been working behind the scenes to install as much equipment as possible so there will be less to do once the internet goes live.   

 

We do know many owners are anxious to be able to use the courts and your understanding of the board’s decision to delay the court opening in order to take additional measures to ensure that the facilities will be used only by Greater Corona residents and their guests.  The new system will as well help to prevent ongoing vandalism.   

 

As we get closer to the end of September, look for a community email that will be sent out to homeowners announcing the official date the court will open.

We are a community of 415 proud homeowners in the city of Chandler, Arizona. We have provided this site to help better serve and communicate with our residents and the surrounding community.

 

Our board meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of every other month at our community clubhouse located at the North pool (Orchid & Juniper) at 7:00 PM - EVERYONE is welcome.
